That is right, I matched my best 5km time ever, twice in a row. However without doing any running training I was able to complete the race without stopping, in a time of 52 minutes. My previous best 5km time was about 26 minutes and I had never run that longer distance before (let alone in a race). Whilst the weight hasn’t been flying off me, have I become fitter? The answer might be in a 10.5km fun run I did in the middle of the alpha round. I’ll go into more detail about each shortly. Having said that, the programs are very well put together and feel more “complete” than something like Insanity.It really does feel like you are running on the same spot (especially the bits where you are running on the same spot…) and if you are in any sort of shape you’ll move on quickly. If you don’t want to work out for the heck of it? I’d do the first week, skip the next two and then complete the final weeks of the program. It really only needs to be 3 weeks, 4 would be pushing it. After that things have plateaued leading to a couple of conclusions. I felt the first week was, unsurprisingly, the hardest and that is where I got my best results. That is in line with my expectations, but a couple more would still have been nice. In terms of raw numbers I’ve only lost a pound or so, fluctuating down to as many as two on a good day. I have not been using any special diet or supplements, but I generally run a tight ship in that regard so you could consider that I’m always eating well.įirst, lets throw up a picture to track the progress per week:Īs you can see, there have not been huge changes but the difference is there, especially if you squint a little. I stuck to the program closely and only missed one day which I made up for on the next. But because of the effect of diminishing returns, I wasn’t expecting amazing results. What this means is I was going into the program hoping to get a little bit fitter and lose a little bit of weight.
